Representatives from Acer said that the manufacturer expects to ship in 2009 30 million laptops. Previously, Acer, said its intention to ship 28 million units, but it revised the forecast due to greater sales than expected.

According to IDC, in 2008, Acer has sold about 23mln notebooks, in the first quarter 2009 sales of Acer notebooks totaled 5.8 million units, while the latter ─ 6.6mln. Manufacturer expects that the results of the third and fourth quarter will exceed 9mln units each, thus, the total sales for the year will be more than 30 million.
