According to Asus president Jerry Shen (Jerry Shen), in 2009 the company Asus plans to sell up to 13mln from 11mln notebook, with up to one million of them are ultra-model based platform CULV.
Total sales of Asus notebooks, is expected to reach 25% of global notebook sales, despite the fact that the share of netbooks Asus is now declining. Asus has recently launched several models on the basis CULV, and they are just beginning to appear in retail sales, that is, Asus is going to sell a million of these laptops in just three and a half months. In general, at the end of this year ultraportable notebooks may range from 25% to 30% of the total supply of laptops Asus.
The fact that Asus is losing market share in the netbook, not too worried about both producers and analysts. Due to stiff competition and low prices producers receive almost no profit from netbooks. Presumably, the manufacturer receives from the sale of a laptop as much, if not more, money as the sale of six netbooks.
