AMD is setting up to start on a Rana-based 45nm triple-core at 3.1GHz, as well as it plans to brand name it as Athlon II X3 445.
Athlon II will be the brand name for the L3 cacheless Propus quad-core, Rana three-core as well as Regor dual-core, obviously with appropriate suffix for example X4 for quad, X3 for three along with X2 for dual.
The three core will have unimposing 95W TDP, 3.1GHz clock speed as well as 3x512KB L2 cache, and up till now again 0MB L3. We think that Athlon II generation will usually be reasonable, but we are having problem understanding how AMD plans to make wealth out of these mega cheap CPUs.
With Intel’s Core i5 and soon to commence Core i3, AMD will have a tough mission to contend, especially as Intel is typically quicker at a similar price.
