Most recently submitted the first 40 nm GPUs are the new generation, developed by AMD. In response, its main competitor in the market of graphics solutions, the company nVidia, has finally revealed some information about his own future, the next generation GPU, which will be called the GT300.
New chip for video production nVidia will also support DirectX 11. The final version of the chip is already established, and mass production GT300 will begin in mid or late October. NVidia has always sought to present their solutions before the end of November, since the second half of November and December typically account for the peak pre-holiday sales, so it's important to have time to present and market a new product before.
If something goes according to plan, supply of cards to GT300 could begin in December, and in the worst case, the manufacturer can show a future graphics card and ask to wait a bit, as it did with the GTX 295 last year. However, nVidia denies rumors of poor yield 40 nm chip GT300, calling them "unfounded". Of course, manufacturers do not like the fact that a competitor has released its decision with a new architecture before, but nVidia reassures himself that it could make your own version with support for DirectX 11 faster.
One can expect that the new graphics processor will have a lot of architectural changes. Manufacturer says that GT300 was completely rewritten and much faster than the chip-generation GT200.
