A few months ago, Franck Delattre (author of the very good CPU-Z) had proposed TMonitor a tool for monitoring the frequency of a CPU cores, in beta. The final version is now available.

This program will display a graph showing the frequency of each core of a CPU and then check the mounted frequency of each core independently. TMonitor is especially interesting on two types of CPU: Core 2 Duo mobile processor, with IDA (Intel Dynamic Acceleration) and Core ix with the Turbo Boost. In both cases, the principle is simple: if some of the cores is not used, the other accelerates. On Core 2 Duo, the acceleration is low, but on Core i7 and Core i5, it can be very high if one is used for cores. TMonitor to verify that the acceleration is that indicated (some motherboards including Asus, alter the behavior of Turbo) and is simple to use. Finally, note that only Intel processors are currently supported.
