The Fujitsu hard disk is (really) finish. The company has in effect announced that the resale of its storage operations to Toshiba was now completely finished. Specifically, a new company (Toshiba Storage Device Corporation, TSDC) replaces the activities of Toshiba and Fujitsu in the world of hard drives. This company is currently owned 80% by Toshiba and 20% by Fujitsu, but the Japanese company should withdraw gradually from TSDC for - to run - all totally belongs to Toshiba.
Recall that Fujitsu was specialized in the 2.5-inch hard drives and models for the business world (SAS, SCSI, etc.); While Toshiba is not intended as models for mobile devices (with models 2, 5 inches, but 1.8-inch and even 0.85 inches). TSDC should therefore focus on the 2.5 inch hard drives only, the 3.5 "hard drives are fast disappearing in the professional world and models of 1.8 inches and less threatened by the peripheral memory-based flash.
