A new beta of Fennec is created and confirmed that the Mozilla Foundation continues to work on the mobile version of its browser. In fact, we had heard from Fennec for many weeks, a silence broken with the release of Version 1.0 Beta 4. Recall that the Fennec development was undertaken in 2008, but this beta, like previous ones, is consistent with the Maemo platform (derived from Linux) Nokia available on the N800, N810 and N900. Of course, emulators, however, allow the browser to try that one is under Linux, Windows or Mac OS.
But this brings fourth beta as news? Well first Mozilla continues to improve its browser interface so that it responds better to the expectations of users and is as readable as possible. Other improvements relate to them on the performance aspect, and are there to ensure posting the fastest possible page views. Fennec course not only use the same rendering engine as Firefox, but must juggle the lesser power of mobile terminals and their limited autonomy. What a dilemma for engineers at Mozilla, Fennec is that especially at the base thought to be used on most phones called "smart" market.
The arrival of Fennec on plugins
But the big novelty of the beta 4 highlighted by Mozilla, the support of add-ons (or plugins), popular feature of Firefox users. Yes, Fennec also be compatible with these plugins, but it is a priori not the same as those modules already available for Firefox. Third-party developers will have to adapt their creations to the technical limitations of Fennec.
