For some time already that the rumors about the resignation of NVIDIA chipsets. The famous nForce had their heyday in the days of Athlon XP and 64, where they currently represent the best solutions for consumers seeking to build an AMD platform. Intel side, the chameleon had passed a beautiful entrance with its nForce 4, unfortunately its changes are not known for their reliability.
Note one exception, the most recent variation, the MCP79 which is experiencing a great success, especially when coupled with an Atom processor. This is not the chip vendor since most NVIDIA delivers the bulk of its current sales on an old AMD chipset, the MCP61. Sales of chipsets are always a good share of turnover of the chameleon, thirty percent of it in the second quarter of fiscal 2010.
However, NVIDIA has to declare, that they have stopped up the expansion of innovative chips to this section. In case the ban, which Intel considers the NVIDIA license does not consist of processors being supported on Nehalem microarchitecture. Demand chipset for AMD platforms in turn is completely void. The Texan prevents same as its competitor Intel, the development of chipsets for its future platforms.
Only hope for NVIDIA, the trial to be held in 2010 to determine if Intel's decision is lawful. The chameleon says that the license which he currently is still viable remains to be seen whether the court will vindicate her...
