2000, Apple uses the code name of the first explosion of a nuclear bomb for one of its aircraft, the Power Mac G4 Cube. This device, ahead of its time, is a desktop compact form ... cube.
Trinity
The G4 Cube is a machine of 20 cm square (approximately) with a PowerPC G4 (500 MHz or higher), a 3.5-inch hard drive and a DVD player. With a graphics card (AGP 2x), machine still has some flaws: very little progressive (no expansion slots in addition to the AGP) and limited to the level of connectivity (both USB 1.1 and two FireWire, no audio jacks), the machine is most expensive ($ 1 600 in basic version without display) and fragile, with a hull that tends to crack. Nevertheless, even after the release of his spiritual son the Mac mini, G4 Cube is a machine adored by fans, by design.
