NVIDIA has officially confirmed its position in the case PhysX. The chameleon indicates that the situation is perfectly normal. The PhysX card was busy with AMD / ATI only with old drivers or Windows XP with the beta for Windows 7, which was a mistake by the Californian firm.

NVIDIA justifies this position by its policy of testing. Fourteen NVIDIA graphics cards, eight in a specific PhysX on six platforms with six operating systems generate 24 000 different configurations that are tested on the new GeForce drivers. Insert a graphics card AMD / ATI would be a considerable extra work for NVIDIA, which does not wish to make this effort. As it stands, the chameleon deactivates a configuration he considered invalidated.

If we can understand this position, we would have preferred that NVIDIA offers the choice to the user, even what it is after a warning ... On the old original Ageia PPU, NVIDIA states that support will continue on XP and Vista, but not 7. Once again we would have preferred otherwise, but the position is understandable for a product that starts to date.
