Representative of the company nVidia has confirmed that the manufacturer plans to begin mass production of chipsets Ion 2 in 2009. There are no specific details are still unknown, since they largely depend on the partners nVidia, ordering these chipsets.
The new generation platform Ion will support different processors, comparable to the Pentium 4, i.e. VIA Nano, of course, Atom, as well as some processors platform CULV. Future Intel such as mobile Arrandale Core i5, will not be compatible with chipsets ION, as they support the DMI, which will not be used in the Ion. Support for VIA processors is planned, but its availability will depend on the requests of producers of various devices.
