A warning about a security vulnerability in Acrobat / Reader has Adobe released his "PSIRT" blog (Product Security Incident Response Team). As with previous warnings, it is also time to malicious code that is played using manipulated PDF files about the leak on computer (see "critical vulnerability in Acrobat and Flash") and can be executed there.

This time the entire product is affected versions of Acrobat and Reader up to and including version 9.3.1 under the Windows, MacOS and Unix. According to Adobe, there are at least on Windows machines already exploit. The manufacturer wants a patch on 13 Delivered in October. Since May this year, there is also a fixed patch day at Adobe, which always takes place simultaneously with that of Microsoft (see "Fixed patch day at Adobe").

Also as in previous security alerts Adobe Acrobat advises users to disable JavaScript on that date - but that it also provides no absolute protection. Acrobat Reader users who want to play it safe should take advantage of any other PDF viewer.
