Asus has put in place a procedure to exchange for some batteries shipped with its laptops Asus X51 and Pro52. Under certain conditions, and after prolonged use, the batteries manufactured by a subcontractor in 2007 are indeed likely to pose safety problems.

The manufacturer has posted a page dedicated to this problem, where it is possible to check if the battery is part of the bad batch. If so, proceed Asus course free exchange.
