AMD has announced its results for the third quarter of 2009. American society, two maker of x86 processors and graphics processors, is better. If losses of 128 million have been recorded this quarter is significantly better than was expected. The turnover reached 1.396 billion dollars, up 18% from the previous quarter. The losses were $ 330 million in second quarter 2009.
Better, much of the losses this quarter came from a repurchase of debt. Without it, the losses would have been 62 million. Also in good news, AMD Product Company (without GlobalFoundries) has now announced profits! 2 million small profit only true, but it's very good news.
As for processors, units shipped are up (compared to previous quarter), as well as their average selling price. Turnover CPU is 1.069 billion dollars. The ATI has made a profit of $ 8 million (turnover of 306 million dollars), compared to a loss of 12 million the previous quarter. This quarter should be even better with the Radeon HD 5000 which are feasted ... but not yet available in mass.
