In less than a week, Windows 7 will be launched. It introduces an important novelty for SSD flash drives, support for the TRIM command. We have spoken more than once, the latter is of importance. It should put an end to the problems of reduced performance storage media based on flash over time.
OCZ informs us is the first chopping with new firmware for every vertex (except the Turbo will be updated later). They are more precisely four firmware’s that are available for Vertex etAgility EX (version 1.4-1.41) and for Agility EX (version 1.3-1.31). Two firmware versions are proposed, one compatible with the trim and then Windows 7, and one with the least efficient garbage collection for those who use an older OS, or are in a RAID configuration.
There are several procedures for updating, some of which are losing the data on the SSD. We strongly recommend that you carefully read the information provided by OCZ.
