One of the biggest players in the market of solid state disk (SSD) is owned by Intel. Currently, the manufacturer intends to expand its offer SSD. His series X25-M second generation, made on 34nm process technology, has a significant cost advantage over competitors. Intel expects that its electronic storage devices will become even more popular after the series X25 X. The name may even hint that it would be an extreme model, but still certain that the new model will be budgetary decisions, which will cost less than current models.

Speed reading Intel X25-X will be 170MB / s, write speed will be rather modest ─ 35MB / s. Access time is the same as in current models X25-M. Fortunately, Intel managed to maintain low power consumption and price. During use X25-X will consume only 90 MWt, and in idle TDP drops to 75mVt. For comparison: power X25-M is 150mVt and 75mVt respectively. Price has not been revealed, and the form factor, of course, will be 2.5 ". In the fourth quarter of this year, Intel plans to release a 40GB version, which will be considerably cheaper than the existing 80GB model. Even with relatively low-speed read and write a new solid-state drive, Intel will interesting option for notebooks and netbooks with low power consumption and, hopefully, a low price.
