Soon after ATI's HD 5000 series was being promoted in late September it became obvious that ATI hurried to compress the launch into Q3, to please investors. Mainly, there weren't adequate GPUs to go around as well as finding an HD 5870.
Things have enhanced somewhat, but in definite regions it is still somewhat tough to get HD 5000 cards in stock. This is especially true of the HD 5850 as well as HD 5750. It seems cash stripped customers are deciding to go cheaper, as well as getting an HD 5850 instead of an HD 5870 will save you €100 with a minor performance penalty. But, demand for all HD 5000 series seems to be somewhat healthy and as the Windows 7 launch nears, there's no sign of a let up.
It was being confirmed by the AMD CEO that it was not capable to meet demand for the latest 40nm DirectX 11 cards. "We are hand and mouth on supply. I guess that situation to advance over the coming weeks as well as months,” There's some questions on whether the supply matter is caused by high demand or else some troubles with TSMC's 40nm process, but we think demand is to blame. In some cases, there's perhaps not much AMD can do to address the issue in a short time frame, there's no magic wand solution, so it will most likely just have to wait it out.
AMD can manage to take its time. Nvidia still doesn't have something to struggle with Evergreen as well as this won't change for weeks if not months, so inadequate availability most likely won't make an impression in Evergreen sales. On the other hand, finding several harms in Tehran will remain a overwhelming task.
