Asus has announced a new product the CrossLink. This USB device, original, in fact serves to synchronize data on two computers, but also serves to share peripherals. The target market is obviously one of Netbook: Asus highlights the ability to synchronize files, but also to share a scanner, reader often absent from netbooks. The device comes in two versions: one black, equipped with software for data synchronization, but also parameters of some programs (like Outlook) and dedicated to PCs and other white, which has less software, but is compatible with computers running Mac OS X.
The set includes some dedicated storage (2 or 4 GB), equipped with a mini USB in addition to the plug for connection to PC. A 1.2-meter cable (supplied) allows then to connect this USB drive to a second computer for data synchronization. Not that we know exactly how the solution, we can assume that Asus uses a network adapter to the USB interface, system fully recognized by the newer systems. Note that the PC version released in October, but the version for Mac is not expected before December.
