Asus has unveiled the ESC 1000, a "super computer" desktop developed in collaboration with NVIDIA and the National Chao Tung University in Taiwan. If the box displays relatively conventional size (445 x 218 x 545 mm), the components within them are however less common. There is indeed a W3580 Intel Xeon, 24GB RAM, and graphics card FX 5800 Four and three NVIDIA Tesla C1060, a total computing power of 1.1 teraflops.
Designed for scientific research, rendering 3D or the photo editor, monster power loads also a hard drive 500GB and power of 1100 watts. The manufacturer has unfortunately failed to provide the most interesting point: the price of the product.
