Hitachi at present declared three innovative external hard drives: the SimpleDrive, Portable Rugged Drive as well as trendy Portable Drive. The most recent addition to Hitachi's external HDD solutions is being power-driven by USB 2.0.

The SimpleDrive is besieged towards mainstream desktop customer who can save up to 2TB of data in this convenient drive. It also boasts of anodized aluminum attachment.

The final model, Hitachi Stylish Portable Drive, is for stylish crowd. It comes in two flavors Blue Dusk (320GB) as well as Carbon fiber (500GB).
