PowerColor has launched officially its ATI Radeon HD 5870 LCS. LCS Liquid Cooling Solution means. The heat emitted by this graphics card is dissipated by a waterblock. The latter is produced by the Slovenian company EK Waterblock, who has managed to create a name in the field since his arrival in 2005. The Radeon HD 5870 is single-slot format, it nevertheless retains a dual-slot bracket for the four video outputs (one DisplayPort, a DVI and two HDMI).

Under the waterblock, we find the RV870 and 1600 stream processors and 1024 MB of GDDR5 connected via a bus 256 bits. PowerColor advantage of better cooling to review the frequency increased. It goes from 850 to 875 MHz at heart, and from 1200 to 1250 MHz for the memory is thus rather light. The ATI Radeon HD 5870 supports DirectX 11 and ATI Technologies Eyefinity, CrossFireX and Stream. It will be provided with a coupon to download the game from Codemasters DiRT 2. PowerColor announces availability for next November 6. No information on the costs of this solution but it should nevertheless be high.
