Most PC manufacturers have a preference to install a whole bunch of "utility" as the computers that stand out and provide unique functionality compared to its competitors. The problem with these "junk programming" as most call it is that they often take large amounts of system resources and has now been confirmed that Windows 7, which received very good reviews for its fast start-ups and low system requirements will be more or less destroyed by many PC manufacturers and their large amounts of junk software.

On PCPro have done tests on many new laptop computers which focused on just the impact of junk programs on the computers. Acer and Sony were among the worst offenders where Acer, among others transforms a 43-second jumpstarted for 2 minutes and 44 seconds with their own "utility".

Often, programs also took several hundred megabytes of additional random access memories and Acer has not less than 2.4 GB of additional hard disk space to accommodate all the junk programs.

Luckily, all manufacturers are not as bad but then very few of the programs used were reasonable and sometimes difficult to remove even one can really wonder how some manufacturers argue. Full review can be read at PCPro which tested the computers from nine different manufacturers and where Apple takes home a grand slam with his MacBook, which will without any junk programs.
