Have apple attacks finally Macintosh: the next minor version of Mac OS X, 10.6.2, blocking systems based on Atom processors. Remember that the Atom processors are mainly used in netbooks and that Apple does not offer such machines. Furthermore, no Apple machine uses Atom, one finds that the Core 2 Duo, Core for i5 and the Core i7 in the range (and a Pentium M in the Apple TV). In practice, many netbooks are directly compatible with Mac OS X (version 10.5 or 10.6) and much is used with some modifications (including changing the Wi-Fi). By blocking the Atom with 10.6.2, Apple thus prevents some user’s pirates to use their netbook with Mac OS X and this change also means that the company will not launch products under Atom short term (the Apple Tablet, sea snakes of high-tech, should use ARM architecture).
Still, this is the first time the company tackles head-hackers by changing the system, the company has yet to address the preferred companies that resell Macintosh mass (like Psystar).
