Cisco, VMware and EMC have announced unite to offer private companies clouds.
Complete Solutions
The fruit of their union is a joint venture called Acadia, which will sell the data center Cisco, EMC storage units and tools of VMware virtualization. Known for now as the V-Block, this solution will enable companies to develop private cloud, taking advantage of unified solutions.
V-Block 1 will manage between 800 and 3 000 virtual machines, and UCS will integrate the Cisco Nexus 1000V, the V-Max solutions from EMC and VMware vSphere. V-Block 2 is similar, but is intended to accommodate between 3 000 and 6 000 virtual machines. Finally, V-Block 0 is dedicated to small and medium enterprises with a capacity of 300 to 800 virtual machines.
Virtualization for All
The three companies have also decided to create the Virtual Computing Environment. This coalition is aimed at developing new products turned to virtualization. These three companies hope to make the shadow of Oracle, IBM and HP, which also offer such products. Analysts estimate that it could terminate the relationship that VMware has with these companies, but the firm said it would continue to sell its technology to everyone.
