Samsung has now taken a new step towards thinner devices in the mobile market by presenting a new super-thin flash memory chip. The new chip that houses the eight memory chips and has 32 gigabytes (GB) is not more than 0.6mm high, which is made possible by the last 30 nanometer technology. Samsung's new memory chip is thus half as thick as previous solutions, and hope that their new advances should be used for new form factors in the mobile market.
Memory chips are also 40% lighter than previously and also the importance of flash memory chips is hardly what makes our well-equipped mobile phones, a little too heavy, you will see it as a nice bonus.
When the new memory chips can be expected to show up in mobile devices is still unclear, but expects both higher storage capacity and thinner devices in the foreseeable future.
