The 10C540 build of Mac OS X removes the management of Atom.
A video shows it is not possible to start this new build on a PC with the Intel netbook. The question now is whether Apple has reversed its decision or if it was always the case.
Screenshot or Photoshop?
Indeed, last week we announced that Apple had retired management Atom by Snow Leopard to, among others, to avoid running the OS on netbooks (see "More of the Atom next Mac OS X "). However, the site Stell's Blog has published a post few days later stating that a new build (the 10C535) found management Atom, screenshot support (see "The Atom returns to Mac OS X ").
Today big doubts still hovering over this capture would be a beautiful work of Photoshop. Indeed, a user has noticed that the date of compilation of the so-called kernel 10.2.0 on this image is July 31, 2009 at 22:47:34 this is exactly the same date as the compilation of the 10.0 kernel (the Mac OS X 10.6.0). But that same user would also have found what he believes is a screenshot of the kernel build 10C540 which displays a different build date (October 16, 2007 at 01:47:07). In principle the 10C535 build should have the same kernel that this new version.
No netbook to
In short, if nothing has yet been confirmed, the question hangs over the authenticity of the first capture of the build 10C535. Meanwhile, one thing is sure; the new build does not support the Atom and the Apple netbook that some waiting seems buried.
