An increasing number of Web 2.0 sites are being used to spread harmful material. In addition to Twitter being used to issue encoded instructions for botnet attacks, even blogging sites, Google Groups and Yahoo Groups have been used to host spam. Spammers abuse the photo sharing and update broadcast features. This places some of the onus of security on the moderators of such social networking sites, who often take weeks to respond to pages flagged as inappropriate.
