LiteOn has presented his eHAU324. This new external DVD burner has a maximum speed of 24x for DVD + R /-R. It measures 165x58x192 mm, and weighs 1.3 kilograms. He keeps a USB 2.0 interface and engrave the following speeds: 24x for DVD + R /-R, 12x for DVD-R / + R DL and DVD-RAM, 8x for DVD + RW, 6x for DVD-RW , 48x for CD-R and 32x for CD-RW.

Note that currently, it is almost impossible to find blank media exceeding 16x in single layer and 8x dual layer. This is not very serious in itself, if the speed increases from 20 to 30 MB / s between 16x and 24x, the burn time will pass only 4 to 3 minutes. The LiteOn has eHAU324 SmartErase technology that can erase a CD / DVD-R by rewriting random data over the original data. It will be available in coming weeks against about 65 euros.
