Intel has informed its partners that a new revision of the chipset midrange P55 Express was in preparation. Available in sample from a few weeks (October 2), the B3 version of the P55 will be officially launched December 7. Stocks B2 will be passed by the February 5, 2010. This new version is compatible pin to pin, and therefore should require no changes to the PCB motherboards today.
New BIOS will nevertheless be achieved and a new SATA driver must be used with this new version. The P55 version B3 must support "future" processors. However, Intel said its new CPU engraved in 32 nanometers, the Clarkdale will be compatible with the current version B2. We have tested the thing a few weeks ago, it works well. We do not really know what this new revision offers...
