Zalman has introduced its PWM Fanmate. This small box (dimensions 55x24x13, 5 mm) was already provided with the latest heatpipe Korean (CNPS10X). The big novelty is that it is now universal; it suffices to have a fan with a 4-pin connector. It can adjust the speed of it between 25 to 100% of its maximum speed.

By using pulses instead of simply reducing the voltage, speed is regulated so much finer, thereby glean a few tenths of decibels or a few revolutions per minute without (too much) affect the other parameter .The French distributor of Zalman, Bacata, indicates actual availability in 8 days, with a suggested retail price of 11 euros.
