Amimon just introduced a module to integrate the Wireless HDI in laptops or netbooks, the NMA 2120/2220 WHDI.

The HD Wireless

The firm said it had already begun to produce its mini PCI modules 50 mm x 30 mm for computer manufacturers. The machines can then share content in 1080p without the need for cable, provided that all media use the WHDI. The manufacturer does not mention the maximum encoding to use, but claims that its product is HDCP 2.0 compliant and uses a frequency of 5 GHz to send data.

To function, the NMA 2120/2220 WHDI uses a map of 44.4 mm x 26 mm using the DisplayPort interface. The first products embedding these modules are expected to arrive in 2010.
