NVIDIA has officially presented its new GeForce GT 240. This graphics card adopts a new GPU engraved in 40 nanometers, the GT215. This chip loads 96 stream processors while the memory bus is set to 128 bits. The choice of memory is free, NVIDIA officially offers two choices, 512 MB or 1 GB GDDR5 and (54.4 GB / s bandwidth) and DDR3 (32 GB / s). The official frequencies are 550 MHz core and 1360 MHz for the shaders.
The GT215 supports DirectX 10.1 (Shader Model 4.1) and NVIDIA PureVideo HD technology, 3D Vision, PhysX ... etc.. This new graphics card will consume 9 watts idle and 70 watts in load. It therefore requires no external power connector PCIe.
Gigabyte launches two references based on the new GeForce 240 GT NVIDIA. The GV-N240D3-1GI takes 1 GB of GDDR3 with frequencies overclocked to 600/1460/1600 MHz. The GV-N240D5-512I provides for its 512 MB GDDR5 and is clocked at 550/1360/3400 MHz. Both graphics cards have an aluminum heat sink, topped with a 80 mm fan. Level video outputs, one finds the trio VGA, DVI and HDMI. No information on rates for now, normally this place NVIDIA graphics card under 100 dollars (80 euros, all taxes included).
Galaxy also launches its new versions of the GeForce GT 240. Three models are offered, one with 512 MB GDDR3, one with 1024 MB of GDDR3 and one with 512 MB of GDDR5. Galaxy indicates that the heat sink lowers the GPU temperature of 15 degrees to the reference model. The frequency of heart and shaders of these references are not moving, memory is clocked at 1800 MHz (GDDR3) or 3600 MHz (GDDR5). The Chinese manufacturer indicates that its solutions will be available at rates ranging between 90 and 100 euros.
The declination of Biostar adopt a heatpipe a little wider, dual-slot. The Taiwanese manufacturer has chosen to install 1024 MB of GDDR3 on the GeForce GT 240. The frequency of the heart and its shaders remain at 550 and 1360 MHz respectively. The memory is clocked at 1400 MHz.
The Inno3D versions differ, and not of the best ways. If the GPU is clocked at 550 MHz, the shaders have their frequency dropped to 1340 MHz instead of 1360 MHz. The manufacturer will offer models with 512 MB and 1024 MB of RAM. If it's GDDR5, it will be clocked at 3400 MHz, DDR3 will be found at 1400 MHz and DDR3 1580 MHz.
