After the French Gemalto is Sony's turn to introduce smart cards biodegradable. In partnership with Dai Nippon Printing and Mitsubishi Plastic, the company proposes maps bioplastic, which could be used by the company MasterCard. The card, which contains 46.5% of the bioplastic is usable for a credit card: Sony has managed to produce a material capable of receiving the tape for this type of cards. In fact, the company hopes to sell these cards around the world and expects a turnover of 1.5 billion yen in March 2012 (11 million €).
In fact, it is obviously at the time of production of the map that the environmental benefit is now producing a map composed partly of recycled materials reduces CO2 emissions and can feel better about ourselves. Still, such maps should democratize quickly enough, all having been validated by the companies managing the ISO and JIS standards used for smart cards.
