Patriot has unveiled new SSD. With PS-100, the California-based company wants to offer flash drives more accessible, but this has done (too) at the expense of performance. Patriot did not specify which controller is used in the new references. 64 MB of cache are present, however, and announced the consumption of 5.3 watts in charge rather high, eliminates all the usual suspects. It is also close to this one OCZ Apex with two JMicron controller in RAID0 consumed!’

The Californian firm does not specify what type of flash memory is used, it can be bet without too wet on the MLC. Capacity of 32, 64, 128 and 256 GB will be proposed by Patriot. The sequential advertised speeds are 210 Mb / s read and 150MB / s write. Newcomers are listed in Europe (under the name P100) from € 104.90 (32GB), € 239.90 (64GB), € 364.90 (128 GB) and € 749.90 (256GB ). Effect requires novelty, prices are currently rather salty, it will take some days to know how these DSS will place themselves effectively compete.
