System Builder Tranquil PC specializes in small, power efficient and integrated systems used in both military and healthcare. But there are more exciting storage solutions for Windows Home Server in its range. Now, as the British company revealed little information about their upcoming WHS-solutions that will take the help of Intel's new Atom processor D510. Tranquil PC will begin taking pre-orders already on December 6, and then start sending out the systems on 6 January. Which may be an indication of Intel’s launch date?
It has now published a lot of information and pictures of Intel-based Pineview Atom D510 processor but also the mini-ITX motherboard that houses the processor, D510MO (Mount Olive).
Among the specifications we see in addition to dual 1.66 GHz CPU cores on the processor, the system supports up to 4GB of RAM on two memory slots, which also bodes well for netbook market. And a bunch of SATA and USB ports.
The processor, which accounts for most of the system's total power consumption of 15W also has an integrated DX9-based GPU (GMA 3150) and compared to the 33W as Intel's chipsets nyvarande prefer, you can directly see the dramatic differences that can become a Home Server, which often is on around the clock. Tranquil PC will be users be Intel's new platform in MiDASS series of Home Server but expects more manufacturers are hoping for it in early January.
