Silicon Storage Technology has just introduced the fastest quad-bit flash memory since at 1.8 V, it has a throughput of 320 Mbit / s.
Important bearing
Operating at 80 MHz, its performance allows the execution of programs from flash memory without having to replicate the code on an SRAM. It expects to find in mobile phones, Bluetooth headsets, GPS and other mobile products.
Facilitating access to information
The model presented by the company is changing its memory 3 V. To achieve its purposes, the firm has developed a method of indexing memory so the system can move from one address to another, jumping from 256 bytes (one page), 64K (a block) or more while using a system of indirect addressing, which reduces the number of clock cycles and accelerates access to data.
Silicon Storage talking about reliability of 100 000 cycles and can retain data in memory for over 100 years. The application module 15 mA in reading and 10 uA at rest.
The first copies of tests have already been sent. There is talk of a mass production for the first quarter of next year.
