SSD and memory manufacturer OCZ Technology has now announced that during CES in January next year will present new USB 3.0-based storage solutions along with chip manufacturer Symwave. The partnership is built around the OCZs latest solid-state technology with Symwaves newly developed USB 3.0 control chip. OCZ claims that their external storage solution will be the fastest USB 3.0 SSD drive on the market with a performance up to 10 times that of today's USB 2.0 products.

In addition to pure performance gains OCZ also claims that it has made progress in power consumption and also reducing CPU utilization, improvement attributed to Symwaves new USB 3.0-checks.

Some technical specifications offer is not in the current situation but it will be exciting to see OCZs first USB 3.0 products, as well as follow other manufacturers who pioneered the use of technology.
