Just days after the agreement signed between Winbond and Elpida, the latter has just announced the arrival of its first GDDR5 memory chip, a chip developed through patents bought from German Qimonda.

Responding to the sweet name EDW1032BABG, this chip has a capacity of 1 GB for maximum throughput of 6 Gbps. The first prototype of this chip should leave the production lines during the month of December, with mass production scheduled for second quarter 2010. Elpida now has its catalog all types of current DRAM: DDR, XDR and GDDR DRAM Mobile.
