Asus finally launching the multitouch version of its Eee PC netbook, the T91MT. This netbook is rather special: its screen of 8.9 inches (1 024 x 600) is touch and supports multiple fingers and its hinge let the machine to be used either as a tablet or as a regular notebook.

A certain lack of power

The machine has one flaw: a certain lack of power. Indeed, Asus uses an Atom Z520 (only clocked at 1.33GHz) and a GMA 500 graphics controller, very slow in 3D (but very good video). The machine is supplied, basic, with 1 GB of RAM and a 32GB SSD and Asus speaks (quite wrongly) of 532 GB of storage space: the company offers a space for online storage of 500 GB. Otherwise, there is the standard connector: USB 2.0 (2), VGA, card reader, etc. For wireless, there are Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (11n).

Finally, an option TV tuner is proposed in some countries. The machine comes with Windows 7 Home Edition, except China, which uses the basic version, and it obviously uses the multitouch features of the latest operating system from Microsoft.

The machine measures 22.5 x 16.4 x 2.5 ~ 2.8 cm and weighs 0.96 kilograms, with its battery, which offers (as Asus) 5 hours of battery life.
