IBM has just bought Guardium, a firm specializing in the protection of databases.
Database and Security
Guardium products are designed to protect customer data, but also monitor the activities of a database to identify fraud, unauthorized access or data anomalies, but also reduce costs of operation system by automating certain tasks. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but some spoke of a bill of $ 225 million (approx. EUR 150 million). This acquisition clearly demonstrates IBM attaches more importance to the safety of infrastructure companies (see "From the safety of your virtual environments).
IBM expands
IBM said that this acquisition expands the scope of his office for analysis and optimization opened recently. Guardium technologies should integrate existing solutions of Big Blue while allowing it to offer new services. The firm may well provide tools to help companies make informed decisions about their infrastructure, while a recent study has shown an official three makes decisions based on information that has not or who are unreliable.
