Micron is now the first manufacturer announced a solid-state device that supports the new SATA interface 6GB / s. The new interface is just icing on the cake when Micron RealSSD C300 comes with several cool new features that extend the device to one of the most interesting we've seen so far on the solid-state market. First of all, covers the 34nm made NAND flash that supports ONFI 2.1 Standard, which will enable the device to use SATA 6GB / s interface at best.

Memory chips are handled by a separate memory controller that comes with 256MB DDR3 cache and a specially developed firmware in cooperation with Marvell Technology. As expected, the 2.5-inch and 1.8-inch format, which applies to RealSSD C300 and performance is something beyond the ordinary.

Micron has specified its RealSSD C300 to a write speed of 215MB / s and a dizzying read speed of 355MB / s, which requires a SATA 6GB / s checks.

Despite Micron close cooperation with Intel, including the joint venture IM Flash Tech to provide their solid-state devices with memory chips, has made a direct comparison with Intel's X25-M 160GB SSD. Where Micron RealSSD C300 really shows up your feet with a PCMark Vantage HDD performance at 45 277 points, compared with 34,312 points for the Intel unit.

Micron RealSSD C300 is launched next year with a storage capacity of 128GB respectively. 256GB. At what prices and when we get to see the devices in any significant quantity remains to be seen. But we look forward to hearing more about Micron's SSD development.
