The JetStream, the next product Indilinx, sees the delay will confirm gradually. The controller, designed for SSD should arrive at the base in 2010, but rumors indicated there is little delay of several months and finally a release planned for 2011. This rumor seems to confirm the production of test models should not begin until the first quarter of 2010 and mass production is expected to better for the second quarter.

Faster

While Barefoot (used in OCZ Vertex, in particular) is engraved in 90nm, does not exceed 512 GB of capacity and only supports the SATA 3 gigabit / s, the JetStream will be engraved in 65nm, will support SSD drives in 1TB and is expected to raise rates. It will be firstly compatible with SATA 6 gigabits / s, which began to arrive, and the other with the flash memory interface DDR, a little faster than the current (working in the PACU). Note that the first rumors spoke of a transfer rate of 500MB / s at least on the SSD-based JetStream, while models based Barefoot does not exceed 270 MB / s (mainly due to the limitation of SATA).

It remains to wait and see what the competition is offering, including the arrival of Seagate and Micron in this market.
