ChromiumOS64 is a project that attempts to bring the operating system Linux on 64-bit processors.

64 bits

Independent teams Google ChromiumOS64 is a version done by a Singaporean who has worn the source code provided by Google (see"Google Chrome this OS"). The advantage of a 64 bit system is running a larger amount of memory and the ability to more easily work on large files, as in video editing or managing data center. However, since Chrome OS is primarily intended to be a browser based on a giant cloud computing system, we doubt that the project attracts many people.

Hypervisor

It was in all cases the merit of interest to many enthusiasts because it offers an interesting tool. Indeed, ChromiumOS64 also integrates the hypervisor Xen 3.4.3 RC1, which allows Chrome OS to virtualize other operating systems such as Windows or Linux. We can then imagine that the user surfing Chrome OS and keeps its files and programs on a virtual machine not connected to the Internet, which would limit security risks. It will however have your processor integrate technology VT-x if it is a model Pacifica or Intel if manufactured by AMD.
