Packard Bell comes to conduct a recall of batteries manufactured between July and December 2007. Only models used on PCs EasyNote MX36, MX37, MX51 and MX52 are affected by this procedure.

Replace

These computers were mainly sold in Europe and North America was spared. Depending on the brand, these batteries have a safety problem. With prolonged use, they can overheat and even catch fire. A web page was established to guide the owners of these models. They are invited to enter the serial number of the battery is located on one side. It is a sequence of 32 alphanumeric characters.

Questioning

Packard Bell says that the batteries were manufactured by a third party vendor in 2007, and then sold to the firm which has built into its computers. We remember the disappointment that Sony had in 2006-2007 with faulty batteries and problems it had generated ("Battery defective: Sony explained"). We do not know if the problem of Packard Bell is the same and do not know the name of the maker of battery at issue in this case. We are cons surprised that it took two years from their date of manufacture and care of the problem by the manufacturer EasyNote. Indeed, 2007 was a year where the battery manufacturers were especially careful of their security products because of the hype has flowed from the Sony case.
