Intel has announced its partners in the transition end of life of some of its SSD. The X18-M and X25-M designed based flash memory engraved in 50 nanometers will no longer be ordered after April 20, 2010, and will no longer be available after August 7, 2010. It will be a year elapsed between the introduction of the second generation, using the MLC 34 nm and the disappearance of the first. This announcement concerns all capacities (80 and 160 GB) and all forms.

At the same time, the first X25-M Trim G2 supporting basic, just landed in Japan. They use the firmware 2CV102HA, which had been withdrawn from the Intel site due to bug. However, the problem concerned only the procedure for updating, and not in the firmware itself, so there is no to worry. Eventually the new X25-M which leaves the production lines will have the 2CV102HD.
