ASUS has announced that eight of its X58 motherboards are now compatible with Intel engraved in 32 nanometers. For now, this applies only Gulftown therefore, the six-core processor based on the Westmere microarchitecture, Nehalem, which will succeed in a few months.

The motherboards are all concerned based on the Intel X58 Express chipset, and thus have a socket LGA 1366. These P6X58D Premium P6TD Deluxe P6T Deluxe V2 P6T Deluxe P6T SE, P6T, and Rampage II Extreme Rampage II gene. Three models are missing, the WS Supercomputer P6T7, P6T6 WAS Revolution and P6T WAS Professional.

Chie-Wei Lin, in charge of the department of motherboards from ASUS, says that "this new processor architecture supports up to six hearts, and consistently increases the CPU performance. It also states “that supports this new architecture on our range of X58 motherboards; we offer one of PC platforms fastest in history."

If you have any references supported, simply update the BIOS just to make your motherboard is compatible with Gulftown. It only remains to wait for this new processor, scheduled for second quarter 2010.
