Intel's next generation of Atom processors will ship with an integrated graphics circuit offering extensively better graphics performance over the current Atom platform. That's not saying much though, since Intel's IGP solutions are anything but established. The first benchmark (PDF) (via SA) with Intel's new generation of Atom does show that atomic D510/410 is a lot quicker than Intel's 945 chipset the graphics benchmarks, but it is still many times slower than NVIDIA Ion.
In a couple of rapid comparison with the current Atom platform you can see that the integrated GMA 3150 graphics circuit of Atom 2 victims superior performance in 3DMark2001 and 3DMark03. But it is still miles from the 3D performance of ATI's chip Ion, Which would explain why Acer ordered huge amounts of Ion 2nd.
The superior news is that the processor and Atom 2 platform can be cooled inactively and consume a total of 33W at load.
These are immobile numbers from a not yet CPU platform, meaning the last judgments are still to be handed out.
