Marvell is the only manufacturer to reveal a controller chip for the SATA 6GB / s interface. It has now presented its original solid-state prototype with its own SSD manager behind the latest interface. Marvell will not be selling any SSDs but it looks to have enormous plans for its SSD controller. Something that could match its Marvell SATA 6Gbps circuit well. The first tests show promising at slightest read performance.
PC Perspective have tested Marvell's SSD prototype circuits completed with ROM (Read Only Memory), which means they could only test the convert speed. This prototype could Achieve utmost read speed of 351.2MB / s and a sustained read speed of 314.5MB / s, Which is even advanced than Intel's 160GB SSD G2 that was CLOCKED at 246.7MB / s.
The benchmarks are on par with those we saw from Micron with a more whole design and we of course look promote to the first 6Gbps SATA SSD drives that are slated for begin early next year.
