The world's most expensive film is now called Avatar, and is directed by the Oscar-winning James Cameron directed advertiser. Cameron, which is hardly a stranger to new technology and computer animations, with subject matter as Terminator and Aliens on the merit list, has once again raised the bar with his siencefictionrulle Avatar. The film has received very good reviews from the previews that led to the official cinema release on 18 December and a lot about the film's cool 3D effects and CG effects.
With Avatar Cameron has used a new technology to film scenes in 3D, which we will also get to enjoy in selected cinemas.
It is said that around 60% of Avatar is created by computers and the new 3D Fusion Camera system used requires not only computational performance for processing, it also requires its space. The entire rendering of Avatar is said to require more than 1 petabyte of storage space, equivalent to 500 pieces of hard drives in 2TB. Which represents a cost of nearly 1 million.
With a budget of over 14 billion is enough storage space is not a major problem, but nevertheless gives a clear picture of how challenging it is to produce 3D-rendered movies.
