Yesterday, we announced the separation from ASUS and Pegatron, a subsidiary of the famous brand in Taiwan, in charge of the manufacture of many of its products. Today we learn more about what will happen after July 2010. Pegatron will use the brand to address the ASRock motherboards market very aggressively, which means it will compete with ... ASUS!

ASRock was launched in 2002 as a subsidiary of ASUS, aiming to sell motherboards entry level freely. ASUS had indeed fear that this strategy, although paid in terms of sales, undermine its image as "outstanding." It is expected ASRock sell 7 million motherboards in 2009.

The former subsidiary, now independent should seek to raise this figure to try to occupy the position of third largest seller of motherboards, at the expense of MSI or ECS. To achieve this goal, ASRock should underpin its range, particularly in tackling more serious segments of mid and high range, with new products that will then compete directly with ASUS branded solutions.

ASUS should reduce the proportion of solutions produced by Pegatron from 50 to 30%. The Taiwanese company will be founded on the motherboard manufacturer Chinese FIC (First International Computer). The main reason that pushed ASUS to separate its manufacturing operations "was to avoid conflicts of interest with them."

Pegatron is capable of launching other products such as netbooks, nettops, SmartBooks, eboooks, televisions, and phones themselves, since it already manufactures ... for ASUS. The future new company will launch does in these areas? Only time will tell.
